Happendance School Policies
CLASS PLACEMENT
New students with no previous experience may enroll in beginning classes. New students with previous training will be assessed for correct class placement.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Private and semi-private lessons are available by appointment to supplement or accelerate training. Through the 1:1 imparting of knowledge and skill in these classes, the teacher can guide the student in a more personal way. A single lesson or series of lessons may be arranged.
FOCUS CLASSES
For the ballet student who desires more intensive study. Classes limited to 5 students of similar technical level, who enroll for an 8-week program.
CLASS ATTIRE
Students are expected to be well-groomed for class, in proper dance attire, with hair secured away from the neck and face, no jewelry, and no bulky warmers on body or legs.
THE FOLLOWING DRESS CODE IS REQUIRED:
Creative Movement and Dance Fundamentals: any color leotard, footless tights, bare feet
Introduction to Dance: any color leotard, pink tights, pink leather ballet slippers
Beginning Ballet 1, 2, and 3: girls - pink leather ballet slippers, pink tights and short sleeve nylon leotard in the following colors: Ballet 1 - royal blue; Ballet 2 - black; Ballet 3 - black camisole nylon
Intermediate - Advanced Ballet: any color leotard, pink tights and pink ballet slippers
Modern and Composition: any color dancewear, bare feet
Jazz: any color dancewear, black leather jazz oxfords
Children's Tap: any color dancewear; shoes – Beg. Tap levels – Mary Janes with taps; Int. levels – black oxfords
Boys: Ballet, Modern & Jazz - solid color leotard or T-shirt; black tights; over 11 years - black dance belt. Ballet - white socks & white ballet slippers. Modern - bare feet. Jazz - black leather jazz oxfords.
NOTE: Dance skirts may be worn only during Visiting Week.
GENERAL POLICIES
MAKE-UP CLASSES
Classes missed may be made up in another class within the same term. They are not credited except in cases of long-term illness or injury.
HOLIDAYS AND WEATHER
Classes canceled for holidays are pro-rated; those canceled due to inclement weather will receive a 50% credit per class toward the next 9-week session. If the weather looks ugly, call the school after 2:00 pm weekdays, 8:00 am on Saturdays, to find out if classes have been canceled.
PAYMENT
Tuition and registration fee must be paid in full at registration. Class tuition is 10% less for each additional student from the same family. Payment may be made by check or cash, or online.
