Whispers
Step inside Whispers, a site-specific movement installation by the Happendance Professional Company, unfolding throughout Thrift Witch’s historic former bank building.
Inspired by the layered history of the space, Whispers imagines the dancers as lingering presences—echoes of former bankers, transactions, routines, and quiet power once housed within these walls. Moving through teller windows, vault-like corners, and open floors, the performers animate memory, absence, and the subtle traces of what remains.
The installation runs continuously from 7:00–8:00 PM. Audiences are welcome to arrive at any time during the hour and move through the space at their own pace, encountering the work as it shifts and reconfigures around them. There is no fixed beginning or end—only an invitation to wander, observe, and listen closely.
This immersive performance is part of Happendance’s 50th Anniversary Season and reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to place-based work, community engagement, and reimagining where dance can live. Admission is free; Donations are encouraged.
